Cheltenham 2012 Review

Well that was a week (well 4 days) that was! All the hype, all the preamble and talking but the Cheltenham Festival, as always, lives upto it’s billing.

Some cracking racing, loads of action and of course a stack of offers and trading opportunities. When the last race was over on Friday afternoon a very large outtake of air was required (and a couple of even larger beverages too) to help get over the intensity of those 4 days.

Every day had its highlights and we hope our coverage at bet72 helped you make the very best of it all.

On the racing front, the legend that is Big Bucks was brilliant once again and also the ride AP McCoy gave Synchronised in the Gold Cup will live long in the memory.

Likewise the bookmakers (and the exchanges) did not disappoint with offer after offer providing opportunity after opportunity, making this, from a personal point of view, the most profitable festival to date that is for sure.

The highlights for me were William Hill and their brilliant £50 2nd place refund offer on every race via their mobile site / app. Hit 6 2nds over the week for £300 in free bets alone from that one plus their early morning price boosts gave some great value in both the win and place markets, with plenty of opportunity to lock in profits pre race at those prices.

The other standout was Ladbrokes. For the newbie then their £150 free bet sign offer was fantastic but for me it was their one hour special on their own World Hurdle race, starring the aforementioned Big Bucks. ½ price odds on all places gave some huge opportunities in the place markets on the Exchanges as well as some monster value on the bigger price selections. Despite the £25 max stake the return potential was huge and the option for inplay trading too on the very liquid markets meant there were loads of was to play this some of offer.

Having Smad Place, each way at 33/1 at ½ odds when the place was trading at under 6 pre race was my own personal favourite risk free position!

One of these a day would be nice!

and the “Paddy’s Thursday” slot offer over at Blue Sq was quite pleasant too (see here)

I think too the other highlight was “the number of strings to the bow” we had at our disposal this year. Straight offers for risk free profits, offers for trading, prerace chances, inplay trades, games / casino offers, the options were endless and all helped make the final outcome what it was.

And I think this is important to take forward for the year. Look at some of the other angles, opportunities and services out there as we are pulling together a great set of resources that all dovetail neatly into each other to give you the best set of tools at your disposal at all times.

Starting with accounts, you need accounts to get the offers. Just get signed up to as many as you can, take the risk free sign up profits from the list on our homepage and then the rest will come to you, we guarantee it.

Fianlly a special shout out to Robbo, Bingo, Nick and the boys/girls in The Nags Room. 4 afternoons of great advice, tips, trades and banter and certainly something worth putting on your radar to drop in and have a look at (it is all free with the free membership at Trading Football, at the moment, too).

So as we have just got our breath back from the 2012 Festival, I suppose there is only one more question to ask….

“Can we do it all again this week?”
