Pipped At The Post

Well I have proved that a Fat Boy can run after all as I completed the Great Manchester Run, finishing 4th, just behind these guys.

Oh hang on, of course the video cut out at the wrong point so you don’t get to see me finish there, damn!

No seriously had a great time with fantastic support from the crowds. I met some wonderful people and the whole event was very uplifting and inspiring, especially seeing so many people running for their own causes and loved ones. And all with a smile on their face (well most of the time!).

Even the usual Manchester weather didn’t dampen the spirits and anyway I am sure there were a few spirits still in some people’s systems after the local footballing events of the day before.

I actually completed the run in 50:31 mins, over 5 mins better than last year so all that last minute training did pay off and still do have use of both of legs this morning, so that is a result. Even Elvis, 2 large Smurfs and even a 6 foot giant carrot were no match for me as I pounded the streets of Manchester. Pausing only to step over a few red and blue bodies in the road, at various points along the way, that were remaining from the festivities from the night before.

Another wave of the 40,000 runners start off

And the good news is the fundraising has not stopped, it is not too late to make a donation as I am keeping the page up until the end of the month to raise as much as I can.

Come on, if everyone reading this just gives a £1 that would make a massive difference seriously.

Also a massive thanks to all the people and organisations would have donated so far, really appreciated.

And a big thanks to bookmaker YouWin who gave me a €100 free bet which I cashed out on the Reading / Cardiff playoff match on Friday to add another £65 to the pot, superb gesture guys, thanks.

So you if you would like to add to the fund then we have 3 ways you can still get involved….
