Mad Dog and Footballers……

Fancy a shot at becoming a Pro footballer? Silly question really. Well now you can thanks to a great new initiative from Pro FC. A fantastic project run by Martin “Mad Dog” Allen designed to unearth an unsigned player and earn themselves a professional contract. Wouldn’t mind a go myself (not sure if they take over 40’s mind!).

Pro FC is a five day football camp run by managers and coaches from the League Managers Association (LMA) and the Professional Football Coaches Association (PFCA) and attendees get to live and breathe the life of a professional with sessions including training and management by a pro manager or coach, physical and mental match preparation, tactical and mental analysis of the opposition and nutritional guidance.

At the end of the first camp two outstanding players will be selected to attend a two-day trial at Tottenham, not bad!

The program has the backing and support of plenty current pros, including Peter Crouch, Joe Cole, John Terry and Frank Lampard. And also DJ Campbell of Blackpool who was given a shot as a pro at the age of 24 by “Mad Dog” after being rejected by a number of clubs. He went from a part-time delivery driver to Birmingham City and beyond (via Brentford) in just 8 months and the rest is history (just ask Kenny Dalglish about his recent trip to the seaside!).

Bet72 is delighted to support such a great new scheme and it is great that Martin and his team have seized the initiative and got it all up and running.

You never know we might just uncover someone who can take us all the way in Qatar 2022 ! Come on if we waited for the FA to implement something like this then they would still be trying to agree on a name for the thing and, more importantly, what biscuits to have at the meeting to decide that.

Watch out for coverage on SkySportsNews once the camps get started in February and we will post updates along the way on bet72 as well.

For full details then get along to http://www.profc.net and check out the recent “Mad Dog” interviews over at Talksport, great stuff…
