Big Mike Strikes Again

Big Mike strikes again. Yes some of you may remember our feature on the futuristic advice from Mike Marsland on the Grand National well he really struck gold again on Friday 27th May but really this is no surprise from the man who’s job title is full time professional horse racing and sports betting strategist. As he says himself, “Betting is a business and gambling is for idiots!”

When writing the daily column, my policy is always to produce winning bets but not necessarily winners.
That said Friday’s column was a classic example of what Strategic Betting is all about and clearly demonstrated why I
continually attack the ‘right’ kinds of punter friendly races and also showed how I protect winning positions with the use of strategic in running mines. Virtually every strategy in the column showed a big profit, but the BMB was the star of the show with over £713 returned via Betfair and I have to say that the introduction of Multiples Betting via Betfair has been fantastic for this service recently.

The each way doubles and combination bets in the column are great bets for us, but very BAD NEWS for the bookmaker.
Mathematically, the odds are very much in our favour, as such as two 9/4 shots just placing will provide a profit and solace as well. This is even more so, now it’s possible to “play bookmaker” ourselves and actually “lay off” some of the bet, like a good bookmaker would do, via Betfair. Following this process through, we protect our profits, reduce any losses and keep our betting banks safe. Finally, when betting strategically I am not interested in short term quick profits – steady long-term profitability is more important to me and so it should be with YOU.

Staggering when I can find a treble containing 3 excellent bets which turn out to be Non Runners over 3 days and on each
occasion the horse failed to load! Pass me the Pills Nurse please. Isn`t it ludicrous?

Did you notice how the layers attacked `our` frames last night (Thursday evening) with so many late withdrawals? Anyway we beat them and sustained a very profitable day in the process.

I`ve said many times that its a continuous battle against the enemy but we are winning the war and feel that we are one of a handful doing so. The trouble with the Bookmakers is that they want 100% – every last little bit – but we wont give it
to them. No way.

To give you an example already today the Brown Envelopes have already been seen at Brighton as a `rag` (Trained by Ian Wood mmmmm) has come out of the nicely framed

2.30. The `Prezzer`. The new Sir Mark Prescott season is upon us. This brilliant trainer basically runs his 2yos over short distances and obtains a low Handicap mark in doing so for the following season. Nothing improper about doing that as its all there in the Pedigree and nothing is hidden. You wouldnt ask Seb Coe to win a 100 metre sprint would you?
Nor would you ask Linford Christie to win a 5,000 Kilometres event. So in effect all above board. For the moment that is. Now this Master Trainer has a most able stable jockey in Seb Sanders and he also now has a Betfair win and place market at his disposal. So now is the time to be watchful on his Entries. Some will build up a great winning sequence and others may surprisingly just finish unplaced. You will be astonished at the dexterity of Mr Sanders who with his occasionally very high whip action will be giving a message to others about his intentions DURING the race. By the way I am not making this up -I have seen over a number of years how they operate. Absolute cunning is the fairest description.

Why am I mentioning all this?

Well he has one today – Captain Brown – who hasn’t managed a mark just yet so it really doesn’t fit in with the plan.
Anyhow – watch the race closely if you see any new tips for me. Should win so for me so I am playing a `Nobby`
trade …………..just in case we see that High Whip action! Prize Money. 8 Meetings – Grade 1 Tracks as well.
Of the 8 would you believe that Newmarket is FIFTH in the Prize Money Stakes? Isnt that a disgrace?
Maybe another in the Mark Johnston description of a `Flapping` track.

ENORMOUS number of bets today. Its like a new dawn. Lets hope so. Remember you must only bet 5% of your bank in any given discipline. No more. Staking is key. Its an A La Carte Menu so you must only bet according to your `psyche` and of course bank. Just pick the bets you feel comfortable with AND most importantly get the lays in running in.

Test Creekit. The rain hasnt helped but they will make up much of the time lost and the market could fall further this
morning if there is a bit of rain about. I am a layer of £12 at 1.6 if so. Currently we have 2 lays for £12 @ 2.4 and £10 @
2.06. Anderson swinging the ball beautifully at the moment.
