William Hill Buy One Get One Free

Posted on July 21, 2009 by Darren Hall

Another freebie from William Hill, ok it will tie you cash up for a while but still a better interest rate than you will find on the High Street!

Less than a month to go until the big kick-off so it must be time for a Premier League Bet One Get One Free offer.

It’s been a busy summer with plenty of movement in the transfer market, especially at one of Manchester’s clubs. How do you think it will affect the 2009-2010 season?

Place a single bet of £20 or more on the Outright Winner market OR Without Big Four market for the English Premier League 2009/10 season and you’ll receive a £5 free bet on the Premier League season Top Goalscorer market.

Your free bet will be available instantly and both bets must be placed before 12:45 on Saturday 15 August.

Like we say just look at all the free bet offers from these boys recently….

All you need to do is find a close match up in odds between William Hill and your preferred betting exchange and you can turn this all into risk free profit, and we even have an online calculator to help you work it all out (click here).

Naturally you will be needing a William Hill account too, so if you don’t have one you can grab a free £100 sign up bet too, all nice and easy as we have all the bets for this on Oddsmatcher

    No betting at half time??

  2. Darren Hall on Tue, 14th Apr 2009 7:42 pm

Just got my bet on Martin, Liverpool 3-0 – 6.5 on WH and laid at 6 on BF

  3. Martin Ogilvy on Tue, 14th Apr 2009 9:29 pm

Realise it’s my fault-should always use Explorer instead of Firefox-just had blank screen on my WH page. Oh well it’s a lesson learnt

  4. Martin Ogilvy on Wed, 15th Apr 2009 6:56 am

I’ll try again tonight and tomorrow-they’re doing the same offer on Man U and Man City games!

  5. Roger on Wed, 15th Apr 2009 4:44 pm

Has anyone tried the ‘Bet with Insurance’ on Expekt?
It appears if you place a bet of at least 10 euros on the correct score and /or the first goalscorer. If you lose they will refund your first bet as a 10 euro bonus.

  6. Martin Ogilvy on Wed, 22nd Apr 2009 11:14 am

    Chelsea Everton tonight same offer!!

  7. Jeff on Fri, 24th Apr 2009 1:00 pm

Am I missing the oint with these BOGOF bets. Do you just stand to make an approximate £3 risk free profit from the earned £5 free bet ?

  8. Martin Ogilvy on Fri, 24th Apr 2009 1:47 pm

About that Jeff-but it is free money and they do a LOT of them-it all mounts up!

  9. NichNich on Fri, 24th Apr 2009 3:16 pm

Heheh :o ) IMHO two ways of looking at it Jeff.

    a) The “I can’t be arsed approach”

Result: Don’t bother. No money earned.

    b) Free money approach

Result: A minute taken to make at least 3 easy quid (bear in mind they’ve had about 7 of these now). I make that 21 quid in 7 mins. Not to be sniffed at.

…or use it as a genuine free bet. Like I did on Chel – Eve midweek which was a stone-waller 0-0 at halftime.

Only takes a minute but as always the decision…is yours!

Let’s put it this way – If you walked into a bookie and someone said to you gimme a quid, I’ll give you a free fiver bet would you take it? If not, leave the offer alone.

  10. rusher on Sat, 25th Apr 2009 9:50 am

Well, if you walked into a pub and the bartender told you “I’ll give you a pint on the house”- would you refuse? After all 3 quid is about that.

Whats happened to the correct score live betting on man u vs tott

  12. Martin Ogilvy on Sat, 25th Apr 2009 5:29 pm

Can’t see correct score betting-what’s up??

  13. Martin Ogilvy on Sat, 25th Apr 2009 5:34 pm

Yep no correct score at half time so that contravenes the t and cs of the bet-will have to have words!

  14. may on Sat, 25th Apr 2009 5:53 pm

Done the man utd v spurs qualifier and sure enough got my free 5 pounds bet on the live score to be placed before start of second half [as advertised by william hill].

ONLY PROBLEM WAS THEY DID NOT OFFER A LIVE SCORE MARKET AS PROMISED IN THEIR ADVERTISEMENT- SCOUNDRELS!!

Emailed them but as ever they are in no rush to write back.

wasted 1.78 in the qualifing bet and have been done i guess.anyone else been done?

  15. Darren Hall on Sun, 26th Apr 2009 8:34 am

Just email them, technical fault at Billys, this is what they said:

    Hi,

    Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately we have been experiencing some technical difficulties with our BetLive console which has prevented us from being able to display the Live Score markets for matches played on the evening of the 25th April. The technical problems we have had have also prevented us from offering free bets to qualifying accounts, and we have been unable to manually credit these. Please be assured that if you have placed a qualifying wager for the Buy One Get One Free promotions on this date you will receive a £10 free bet on your account to be used on any event as soon as the fault has been rectified.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your patience,

    With regards,

    Customer Services
    William Hill

Not just me then but tenner free bet is a nice gesture-good on them!

  17. Martin Ogilvy on Mon, 27th Apr 2009 9:25 am

still not in account mind you!

  18. Darren Hall on Mon, 27th Apr 2009 1:14 pm

    Just got mine…..

    Dear Darren
I’m sorry to say that our in-play betting system was down during Saturday’s thriller between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

I realise that those of you who placed your qualifying £20 stake on the game were unable to claim your free in-play £5 correct score bet, and I want to apologise for this. By way of recompense I’ve credited your account with a £10 free bet, to spend on any of this week’s Champions League and UEFA Cup matches.*

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing to bet with William Hill, and to wish you luck as we head into what promises to be a thrilling summer of sport.

The football action comes thick and fast this time of year and I’m sure I don’t need to draw your attention to Barcelona v Chelsea, which is live on ITV1 at 7.45 pm tomorrow. The game promises to be another classic, and a great one for fans of in-play correct score betting.

If you were planning on using your £10 free bet on the game, here’s a few of our current correct score odds:

  19. martin ogilvy on Mon, 27th Apr 2009 3:26 pm

    Got mine too!

  20. May on Mon, 27th Apr 2009 11:17 pm

I TAKE IT ALL BACK, WELL DONE BILLY HILL – FREE TENNER BET AS RECOMPENSE.

    GREAT SERVICE !!!

  21. Jonathan on Sat, 2nd May 2009 10:05 am

For today the Real Madrid/Barcelona bet is to be placed before kick off and is available now. I have placed my freebet already as I am away to see Aberdeen Celtic today so won’t be home later.

  22. mike on Wed, 6th May 2009 8:15 pm

I placed £20 on this game but no £5 bet appeared , have contacted them but no response as yet..not impressed.

  23. mike on Fri, 8th May 2009 12:01 am

got a free £5 from billy and an apology nice £9 profit after backing werder bremen @ 2.8

  24. Martin Ogilvy on Fri, 8th May 2009 1:48 pm

Their customer service is excellent-I had a similar expereince when I put on the bet and got no freebie and they gave me an apology and a 20 quid free bet

  25. Martin Ogilvy on Fri, 8th May 2009 9:43 pm

More reason to praise them-just got an e-mail notifying me that there are 5 (yes FIVE!!) BOGOFS on Sunday-that’s £25 in free bets-fantastic stuff from Billys

  26. Martin Ogilvy on Wed, 13th May 2009 8:16 pm

Just about to put my correct score bet on tonight’s game and they disppeared!! Have they got problems again??

  27. Martin Ogilvy on Wed, 13th May 2009 8:54 pm

Yep-think we might be getting another tenner free bet on this one-no in play correct score betting aftre about first 10 minutes

  28. Martin Ogilvy on Thu, 14th May 2009 2:28 pm

Only a fiver free bet this time-must be costing them too much!!

  29. rusher on Fri, 15th May 2009 2:10 pm

Maybe costing too much and maybe just- it’s the middle of the week, there are not much worthy games to promote. No EPL, no other big leagues, no Champions League, only Scounthorpe United…

  30. Darren Hall on Fri, 15th May 2009 4:46 pm

Still a free fiver, whether it is Man United or Scunthrope!

  31. rusher on Sat, 16th May 2009 10:21 am

Well, yes but I still hope that when there will be games in bigger leagues and played by bigger teams, there will be more of BOGOFs :)

  32. maria on Sat, 16th May 2009 11:16 am

I messed up the other day.
Ticked the box to use free bet, but
as odds chsnged, did not tick it
again. It did not use my £5 free.
Emailed them and they gave me a free
    £5 on any bet.
    Can’t complain!!

  33. Jeff on Mon, 18th May 2009 10:43 pm

thought this BOGOF promotion was a bit naff but have managed to scoop a few bob as there have been so many. wot really caught my eye was the blue square stake returned promtion on blue square premier live games. stake is returned for all correct score losing bets that end up 0-0. with clever matching great profits available for any score but 0-0 or a chosen matching score. can’t wait for next season to try it out

  34. Chris Green on Mon, 25th May 2009 2:01 am

Jeff, what do you mean by clever matching? Are you thinking of backing most outcomes, but hoping for a 0-0 in the Blue Square Premier in order to make a profit?

  35. Martin Ogilvy on Sun, 21st Jun 2009 10:39 am

F1 promotion not much good for us as exchanges not betting on first retirement. Sure you can get a free bet and hope it wins but not risk free for greedy people like me! Anyway they’ve got another one on England Germany tomorrow!

  36. Roger on Mon, 22nd Jun 2009 8:47 pm

Ive tried to place a free £5 correct score bet at half time on the England Germany game, but the box which normally comes up to select the free bet stake failed to appear, has anyone else had this problem?

  37. Peter Vaughan on Tue, 23rd Jun 2009 9:17 am

Got two Billy accounts . Neither one gave me the free ‘in running’ correct score £5 freebet on England v Germay match . Sent e mail , waiting for reply . Anyone else experience same problem ?

  38. Martin Ogilvy on Tue, 23rd Jun 2009 10:00 am

I’ve had problems like this before and they are ususally very good about it-you’ll probably get a free £5 bet when it is clear you were unable to place your correct score bet

  39. Darren Hall on Tue, 23rd Jun 2009 12:41 pm

Yes there was a problem with this yesterday. From what I heard, the free bet had an expiry time on it of 19:50 so you could only use it for the first 5 mins of the game! I went on Live Chat and they gave me a free £5 bet to use on anything.

  40. griff on Tue, 23rd Jun 2009 3:49 pm

i got the live score bet on in the first 5 mins and still got a free £5 bet to use on anything……..cool

  41. Peter Vaughan on Thu, 25th Jun 2009 7:40 am

Billy’s acknowledged tech error and gave me free bets to use on any of their books . Quality from them .

  42. Darren Hall on Thu, 25th Jun 2009 10:45 am

    Excellent!

  43. Martin Ogilvy on Sun, 28th Jun 2009 8:20 pm

Whoops! Problems again tonight on the Brazil USA game-no inplay correct score!

  44. Jonathan on Sun, 28th Jun 2009 8:27 pm

Has anyone been able to get the willie hill free bet on the USA Brazil game tonight. Went on at half time and no betting option available for live correct score?

  45. Darren Hall on Mon, 29th Jun 2009 9:01 am

Yes, there was a problem but speak to Customer Services and get a £5 free bet valid for 7 days to be used on any market.

  46. Jonathan on Mon, 29th Jun 2009 12:55 pm

Right enough Darren – emailed them last night and £5 waiting for me this morning. Good work

  47. martin ogilvy on Mon, 6th Jul 2009 8:20 am

Be careful if any of you are doing the latest BOGOF on the first test. The free bet is on top England batsman in the match, but on Betfair its top England 1st innings

  48. Jeff on Tue, 7th Jul 2009 11:35 pm

good offer but i can’t find an exchange that offers odds on top english batsman for the match, only betfair offer bets on top batsman in fist innings. am i missing something ?

  49. Darren Hall on Wed, 8th Jul 2009 10:04 am

You can actually match this off as at William Hill the “Top England Batsman” only applies to “1st innings only” so you can match against that market on Betfair to make it risk free!

I got on Ravi Bopara at 5.5 (back) and 5.6 (lay)!

  50. Jeff on Wed, 8th Jul 2009 10:40 pm

I can’t see a first retirement market on any exchange ?

  51. Michael on Tue, 14th Jul 2009 5:23 pm

Todays golf bet is a waste of time as the only viable option is tiger woods and that would mean a loss of over £3! with just a £5 freebie to play with it isn’t worth the effort under the circumstances!

  52. marrtin ogilvy on Wed, 15th Jul 2009 9:07 pm

Still free money and that’s always worth it-it all mounts up! Would you throw away 3 quid if somebody gave it to you?

  53. Chris Green on Thu, 16th Jul 2009 12:15 pm

Martin, what he means is that you would lose £3 in order to get the free £5 bet. Factor into that, that you are likely to only get £3 back from the freebie, means you break even – certainly not worth it!

I’m with you Michael – had the same problem.

Did anyone make this one profitable?
